I have a flash drive that is reading as a CD and I don't know why. I cannot seem to change it even in the admin tools disk management. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Flash drive reads as a CD WTF

I have seen flash drives that were write protected show up as cds sometimes. It can happen accidentally and is either an older model that had a switch on it or had some app the manufacturer released which could turn on/off write protection. What model drive is it?

It,s a SanDisk Cruzer
I went and checked under Disk Management, and there were four drives listed, all with drive letters assigned.
- Laptop Disk
- Laptop CD Drive
- Cruzer Disk
- Cruzer CD Drive
I tried to Disable the Cruzer CD Drive, and now it seems to be functioning normally.
try this this was on cruzer forums.

Mine only shows as a cd drive. I tried to disable it but when I reconnect it is a cd drive.
