Flash Drive Formatted Wrong Size

Yesterday I was doing work on a clients computer and Vista decided to do a scandisk on my 2gb flash drive. Unfortunately, this wiped out half of the files on the drive. That sucks, but I can replace the files. So when I got home, I decided I might as well reformat the whole thing before restoring the lost files. After reformatting, windows now says it's an 8gb drive. Reformatting goes fine, but obviously copying files doesn't work. Is there a way to reset the drive or some way where I can set the partition size? Disk Manager doesn't give me a choice beyond formatting it to 8gb. Or is this a tell tale sign that I need to move on and buy a new drive?

Thanks

hi

try it in another pc maybe? also use a formatting tool where you can specify how big you want the partition.

If you have no luck maybe the flash drive is fucked? The price of them now is pretty look so you may aswell get a new one to save the hassle.
