I just bought a Casio QV-R40 that takes 7 seconds before the flash recharges. Unacceptable.

Whats the time on the A70?

not very long. I just turned my camera on and snapped off two photos back to back with the flash on. didn't have to wait for the flash to recharge. I don't have an official number but its very quick

Yeah, I've shot 2 or 3 back to back and had flash on all of them on my A70.

If you get the Canon, you'll love it :D

I think it depends on the conditions. If its a totally dark room and you use the flas then it will have to put out more power.
But if your using it as fill flash you can probably get several out of one charge...

least thats the way it is with my slr.

Well I've got 2 Kodaks that will flash 3-4 times before a 5 second "processing" screen comes. I assume its charging as well.

This Casio QV-R40 is pretty awesome except I can't overlook the HORRIBLE 7-9 second recharge time between shots.

Leaning hard on the A70!
