flaky cpu useage

Guys, for some odd reason, looking at mbm5, my cpu useage has gone haywire.

Before, it would stay pegged at 100% for both CPU1 and CPU2 (pentium 4 with HT)

for some odd reason, now it is pegging to 100%, then dropping to about half, then back to 100, then back down to half, about once a second. I can't figure out why!

I have run virus software, stinger, I use spybot S&D, spywareblaster, and adaware6, I feel like my system is a safe... but I can't figure out what is causing this.

Also, out of nowhere, when I went to open IE, it said it wasn't my default browser. how on earth could that have happened?

anyway any input is appreciated.

There is a new core 79 I believe that has CPU fluctuations when processing specific protiens from 100% to 0% to 50% and is all over the place. I think the problem is being researched and hopefully they will develop a new core to fix the problem.
 
Okay, yes, the core that is currently running is core 79. Thanks a lot, I was worried there was something screwed in my system, I just installed a complete WC setup the other day and this started happening almost immediately following that!

I was worried, thanks for putting those worries to rest... hehe
 
I was running into the same problem and almost started a thread about it last night :D I upgraded EM to the latest version and then found out why it does that.
