So my ratpad is getting a bit more worn than I like...and my mouse getting a bit lighter in the feet as well...so i plan on getting some new mouse pads...

but...

what can i do to my ratpad GS to make it better as well. Woulds a sanding with a very very smooth grit be smart? or incredibly stupid? i've seen some people talking about using wood polish - i wanna see some people say it right next to their name..accountability.

peace

what was it, edmunds scientific online? buy like 6 feet of teflon tape (no, not the kind at the hardware store) for around 1.50-3.00? They sell "mouse skates" made of this stuff for about $5 for a set of four (2 inches worth). No need to get new feet.

I've heard people use pledge to smooth up the ratpad, sandpaper sounds like a pretty bad idea -- it's plastic. Sanding plastic, afaik, only makes it rougher.

Unfortunately, as of a few weeks ago(maybe a bit longer), Edmunds scientific no longer offers the teflon tape you are talking about. I even found an older mag and entered the part number in... no go. After a few emails they said they no longer offer that product.

Dang, I bet it had something to do with us buying it out back when it was originally linked. . .but you'd think they'd stock more if it were selling, unless they now sell it in the ripoff 2" versions that other people do.
