i found a 17' crt in teh trash. when i turn it on and put it to a signal the indicator light switches from no signal to signal and back rapidly, and shows no picture. i opened it up, and saw what appears to be a small severed circuit. could this be the cause of the problem? or is it possible the problem lies in the cord?

Whoa, Ive had one of those at home and one at work. Was it perhaps a Komodo or Sceptre? Argh, I hated that. My only fix for it was a good slap on the side and jingling the cables around. I don't think it's a cable problem, but if it was, man those cables are easy to replace. If it's as old as I think it is, then it ain't worth your trouble. But if it's just for fun, then gl and tell me how you fix it. w00t!

well, fixing the circuit didnt work. the main reason for fixing it was for a needy friend. nothing changed, and i smell burning, so im going to have to chuck it :(

or have some fun with it :D

If you do crazy stuff with it... Pics Plz!! :p GL to your friend. Doesn't giving stuff to people who need it feel good? Gives ya that warm fuzzy feeling...
