hey all,

i was sleeving the cable of my 70mm OTES fan that came with my FAtala1ty AN8-SLI, when i went to put the yellow pin in, i accidently bent it and broke it. ive tried to replace the little pin with one from another 3-pin fan, but to no avail. This might sound confusing, but im sure some may get what im saying :p i no i could buy a new fan etc etc, but i was seeing if i could fix this anyways, maybe solder it ? thanks

From the sounds of it, since you already have a spare 3-pin connector, why couldn't you just cut the old one off and replace it with the spare one?

thats what ive been trying to do, see how you remove the 3 wires from the little plastic connection on the end of the fan? well the little metal bits at the end, one broke off, and ive cut one of them off an old fan to see if i could peel back the wire, and put in the one that i want to repair. i cant though, its too tight, thats why i thought maybe i could solder the wire on?

how are you pulling the pins ? see those 3 lil open spaces on the side of the connector ? you need to use a needle to push on the pin through there when you are pulling it, that way it will come out without any damage
