w00t, my dual PII machine is up and running again. Since I also have a free hard drive, I will also work on getting the PIII 667 up and running. I need cable for it, though... Geeze, I have an 8 port switch that is now down to 2 ports free...

So, anyone got new or 'was broked' boxen up and running?

Also, out of your main boxen, how often do they get down time? I had a couple hours today, thanks to a power outage.

I replaced the motherboard in my main box a couple of weeks ago. It was just too wierd using my wife's machine as my own.

After finally starting to hit around 1500ppw, I've got some downtime kickin' in.

The PIII 667 and Tualatin 1.3 are off for a while as there's a guest in the room. Not sure if they'll come back online after though ;(

Got tired of the fans in my main rig.... so it now goes off at nights (have a fan controller coming in mail this week, maybe that'll fix things). My 2ghz AXP server is back up after a month of downtime and putting out some nice points.

So I'll probably drop back down to 600-750ppw for a while

My 1.2ghz Amd box stopped sending stuff out the other day. I'm guessing about 1 days lost work. The network nic. went all haywire. I had to turn the box off, and it is all good now.

I had an old hub hooked up to 3 or 4 machines a while ago. One of the 3COM nics let go, and it started screaming over the LAN. No other traffic could get through. Did that for 2 hours, probably more. It did something to my hub, so it doesn't work anymore. D:

I like to build them and let them run:D

relic established a while back that a daily "bounce" or reboot could in fact up your production a bit, but I just don't have the time.

As a rule any outtages are unplaned, except of course the occasional MS outtage or the power company issues.

I've repaired more PSUs and motherboards than I can count. I have a MSI6390-L that I've repaired so many times it's not funny.

I do occasionally reboot all of my machines, but seeing how 4 of them are running headless, it's a real PITA. I don't even bother with the KVM anymore, it just makes things look like crap, keyboard refresh rate feel like crap, and the mouse accuracy crap. :p

I ended up repairing a hard drive this morning... w00t.

My 1.2GHz AMD's motherboard just died. Fried something. It starts, but nothing will show on the monitor out, and it doesn't sound like it's engaging the hard drive. Dang! I that's my only AMD motherboard too. I have nothing to check the chip in. Hopefully I will get some money from one of my family members, since the computer was going to be going to my brother.

Down 1.2GHz dedicated folding for the team for a few more weeks.

Fold on, as always.
