Fitting Maze 4 GPU Block on 7800GT issues

Hi

This is my first attempt at water cooling and I ordered a Maze 4 from ebay. The underside looks like this...

but the holes don't match up with my 7800GT and it wont fit. I don't have the backplates below. If I did, would it then fit and which ones would I need? I can't seem to get my head around how the backplate would allow it to fit without needing to add extra holes in the card.:confused:

You have to use the four holes at the edge of the copper block. First you screw the 4 smaller screws into the for holes, then you'll notice these fit perfectly through the card. On the other side you put the foam and then the lucite backplate. Now just do washer -> Spring -> Washer -> Nut and you're good to go.

ah ok, so I need the backplate shaped like a cross to get it to fit?
