Fitting HDD in 5.25" tray

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a bit random.

I currently have a need to fit a HDD into the 5.25" tray that my CD burner usually sits in.

It needs to be mounted securely(as if a normal HDD bay), and will definately need to be a conversion kit or rails or something. Removing or replacing the original parts is not an option.

Anyone have any ideas? Links? info?

Go out and get a hd cooler bay?

Unlike other hard drive coolers which use 1 or 2 fans small fans, this uses a crossflow blower (small version of the crossflow fan you can get with the CM Stacker chassis) which delivers a even flow of air across the hard drive. It also has a temperature gauge with probe for monitoring.

You will need to clean the filter on occassion but that is a small inconvenience for the cooling capabilities the enclosure offers.

If you don't care about cooling, you can hop down to a computer store then have 3.5 to 5.25 inch adapter brackets for a few dollars if not cheaper. If you need mounting rails that might be a bigger issues as those tend to be proprietary for each case. If not the adapter mentioned above will do just fine without adding any significant costs like the ones already mentioned.
