Hello all. I currently have 2 74gb Raptors installed in my SG01-E, in the hard drive cage. I've been thinking about adding another Raptor (probably a RaptorX) to the system, but I'm not sure the best way to do it. In the 5 1/4 inch bays, I have my DVD-RW, and a fan controller. I thought about replacing the fan controller with a hot swap HDD bay, but I realize there aren't enough headers on the mobo for all my fans.

The controller I'm using now is the Silverstone, and it doesn't take up the entire bay, but I'm not sure I could get a HDD in behind it.

Does anyone else have 3 or more HDDs in a SG01? How did you configure it?

I remember when he was working on the project, you have to drill holes in the current rack to make it work. The lower HD rack in the SG01-E is designed to fit only two harddrives from the factory. Why Silverstone doesn't do that already, when Antec has been doing it for years is beyond me (maybe air flow?).

Here's a few pics of what I've done, they're actually quite old, but managed to fit 3 Hdds..so I can run Raid 0. I also fit an 8800GTX in there and a C2D on a Gigabyte G33-DS2R but haven't taken any pics..You can hack part of the Hdd cage so that the GTX will fit with 3 Hdds still, it is a tight fit, but I can put the cover back on without any problems..

I take it there is not much space between the hard drives?

No, not at all, but I havent noticed any issues, basically the fan does its job extremely well, I can feel the warm air escaping through the holes on the case cover, while I'm gaming..:)
Now all I need is 2 X 150GB Raptors in Raid 0 plus a third 1TB 32MB cache and I'm set..:p

I was planning to suggest getting an SSD as to why anyone would buy a Raptor these days seemed silly to me. But 6 years back, SSD's weren't really an option :)
