First x1x00 review leak...

Good info, thanks for posting. Hopefully they'll be lots of reviews to choose from soon!

Someone needs to revoke that websites URL. That was a misfire of a review.

well the card looks great...that's quite a bit of performance out of a 4 pipe card...I just don't get the pricing...at $149 it goes up against the 6600GT which has twice the pipes...

I agree, good card, bad pricing

I will wait until the card is out to pass judgement as it is still losing to NVIDIA's last gen.

But it seems that the 1300 is aimed at the 6200...
Even though the price is about the same as the 6600gt

Once again, bad pricing...

the MSRP of the 6600GT is 200$ not 150$, street price is not the same as MSRP. These cards from ATi will almost certainly sell for a good bit less than MSRP shortly after launch. Considering that a 6600GT can barely be had for 150$ and a 6600 vanilla is still 100$ I would say the pricing is pretty close to where it needs to be.

No comments on the rather small drop in performance for the x1300 going from SM1.1 to SM3 in splinter cell :(? There's a huge hit for the 6600GT, but that could also be because it has less memory, though I don't know why that would impact its ps1.1->ps3 performance.

Supply and demand will determine the actual market price. If history is any indicator of the future, the ATI cards will not be selling for "a good bit less" than MSRP anytime soon. As I've said before, people who buy cards will compare price/performance of what is available the day they buy the card- using whatever means they have at their disposal, pricewatch/newegg/zzf/etc. They won't give a shit what the MSRP is.

Only way ATI is going to move product is if they can get the performance and availability right. One out of two doesn't move inventory.

i'm confused on that pricing too, i thought the pro was going to be the $130? while everything else was >$100?

those clocks are crazy insane for a low end card haha

PS 3.0 should perform BETTER than 1.1

I assume they have HDR enabled...but the could atleast say...

150 dollars for new gen that is as good or sightly better than last years gen....

If only nvidia brings a 7200, 7600, and a low end 7800NU lol...i think ati will really be HURTING!

Or if they lower the 6800's to that price range...i see a ouch on ati if that happens....not saying it will...just speculating here ;)

I guess it's the features like the H.264 decoding support (AVIVO) that justify the price tag  And street should be lower of course, how much, we'll see.

Your looking at the wrong market here.. people aren't going to buy this card unless they REALLY like ati and am impressed by the small pricetag for the new gen card.

This is going to take the place of the x300 in oem dells, compaqs and other mass produced computers. The price will drop and people looking for a good new gen basic multimedia card will happily drop $130 for it when it goes "on sale" at compusa. They will be happy with it too because it plays dvds, works with excel and can play most of their basic games.

It really dissapoints me that most of your views on video cards are benchmarked by your watercooled overclocked 7800gtx or even a mid-range GAMING card like the 6600gt. If it doesn't pass the 5000 mark on 3dmark05 then its shit right? pfft.

Are you talking about the 9.7% bigger hit the 6600GT took in average fps than the x1300 did, while still holding a 29.2% lead in average fps? Check my numbers- they're right. This is NOT a "huge hit"

Of course, I only looked at the 1600X1200 res scores. That they even included 800X600 is just retarded.

Guess you and I are the only ones that noticed 90% of the review was against a 6600, and SP:CT was against a 6600 GT. What gives? Try and have some consistency please.

Try actually *reading* the article and you'll see why that was done.

meh, the x700 Pro pwns the x1300 Pro and is 33% cheaper. I was hoping for higher performance given the (now obviously faked) leaked x1300 benchmarks a few days ago.

edit: it's very fair to compare the x1300 Pro to the x700 and 6600. If anything it's unfair to the x700 and 6600 vanilla cards because each is much cheaper than the x1300 Pro.

Just so you know guys, this is replaceing the X300 not the X700.

THANK YOU!
finally somebody who is looking outside of the box and not trying to compair a gaming card to a basic multimedia card intended to be an upgrade from onboard.. :)

not impressed... a 66gt still pwns it, and cost about the same

Forget about the gt, they tested the regular 6600 vanilla. And ya for 150 bucks it is a bit too pricey.

It makes no sense when the older gen card (X700) beat out the X1300 in D3....http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?id=1723&cid=3&pg=9

Also they only praise it for 3dm05 scores, which i think is a useless basis for a card...real world testing proved it couldn't handle much.

God, does anybody read the thread before they post?..
lemme make it bigger so maybe people will see it..
THE X1300 IS THE X300 REPLACEMENT NOT THE X700, ITS FALLS IN THE SAME PRICERANGE BECAUSE ITS A NEW CARD! THE X700 WAS $250 WHEN IT RELEASED. YOUR TRYING TO COMPAIR A MID RANGE GAMING CARD TO A BASIC MULTIMEDIA CARD...

Look again at the Chaos Theory benchmark.

You heard the man, the X1300 shall only be used for basic multimedia- No gaming allowed.

It will compete with the X700, and at that price it will lose. For example:

x7001nb.jpg

The price on this card is not going to go up. The price on the X1300 is not going to go down until there is a good supply. Do the math.

But your STILL looking at the wrong market.
90% (not actual numbers, but a safe guess) of consumers out there dont shop on newegg. In fact, they trott their butts down to compusa and think that their sale prices are as good as it gets. Last I checked the x700 was still $200 there.. $50 more than the "retail" price of the x1300.. on top of that, if you want to play with newegg prices, I will bet you $100 RIGHT NOW that it wont be $150 on newegg...

Wow, that must be some awesome architecture to pull that out with a 4 pipe card.

Ofcourse, almost no one is looking at the technology aspect of it.

If nothing else, I will give it to you that $150 is a very steep price for a basic mulitmedia card.. But its smart on ATIs part because there will be a plethora of people out there who are going to spend the money for this card because of the fancy packaging and the bestbuy salesman who will give them some pitch about how it can do about everything from digital photography to being a "powerful gaming card"...

As for another thing with prices.. look at cars. They go down in value as time goes on.
A BRAND NEW 06 Honda Civic is going to cost more than an NEW 04 Honda Accord.. The Accord is more powerful, has a V6 and leather interior.. But its still going to be cheaper than the slower, basic transport '06 civic..

Are you serious? I don't know where you live/who you've been around, but people around here have much more common sense than to pay that price for something (and tax to boot!).

By the way, it's only 149.99 at compusa...so again. It will be compared period <.>

compusax7005fe.jpg

And the x700 is a year old card
You can find 9800pro's for under $150.. why dont we compair it to that?
Maybe because the 9800 series is years older..

Compusa does have one card over Newegg, X850XT at 350 even vs. 400+ on Newegg, but that's it.
