Alright since I have hit my level of temperature limit on air with my e6600 I figure it is about time to go water. Since I am a first time I thought I would ask you guys for some advice.

Yea I think you could get a better case. Around that price range you could get a Cooler Master Stacker (HUGE) or an Antec p182. Also you should look into a triple rad such as the MCR320 or if you've got money to burn the Thermochill 120.3 . But other than that everything else looks good. Keep in mind the shipping costs. I had a budget for my setup, but the shipping took me well over what I was expecting to pay.

I want to keep this cheap, but still have as much cooling power as possible. The Aurora seems like I could easily fit a dual rad in, and still function above average. I would love to go for a lian li, but I want to spend under 200 CDN on a case.

The comment about the P182. I already have a P180, and see no way without cutting giant holes in my case in order to fit a dual rad.
 
Oh you want the rad inside. Some Thermaltake cases are large enough for that (I think the Armor is) and it might be within your price range.
 
I'd personally get a Stacker. It's in your price range, and is more flexible - esp. for rad options - than the gigabyte. Then again, the Aurora's not bad.

Also, you can save a bit of money going with the 7/16" tubing. I'm not trying to push it on you, just putting it out there. Some people like the look and feel of the big tubes.

Well where else would I put the rad? I not sure about hanging it on the outside.

Will the smaller? tubes increase or decrease temps that much?

Also I hate the look of all stacker's. They are just ugly.
 
The Koolance 8800 block you have linked won't work with 1/2" tubing - it has 3/8" fittings. I don't even know if they make a 1/2" version, since most Koolance setups use tiny little tubes.

Well about that, I heard that I could get better performance from just using a standard GPU block, and a bunch of ram sinks. Is this true?

Yes you can get better performance with a full coverage block. A full coverage block has more surface area then a single GPU core block, does it not? More surface area means the more heat it can absorb, effectively removing the heat from the source it came from, with the help of air or water of course.
 
Hotgore, go to directcanada.com to buy this stuff. They own (well last time I checked they do) NCIX and generally their watercooling stuff is about 10-30% cheaper (ie. On NCIX the mcp655 is $90 while its $70 at directcanada, but they're both out of stock so yeah). And if you purchase over $300, shipping is free.

Don't get the koolance block, the 3/8 barbs are going to hurt your temperatures. Get the Danger Den one, better yet, the EK block [do they make a GTS ver?] , but the EK one is going to cost around $50 more IIRC.

Ya I know about DC. I just like to price things out, and round them up on NCIX because it has pretty pictures. :D

About the block. I read somewhere here that the blocks limit flow rate, and that DD 8800 blocks are shit.
 
3/8 barbs in a 1/2 loop = bad idea. The king of the crop currently is the EK blocks which are $140 CAD at directcanada while the Koolance one is $104. IMHO, if you're using a 1/2 loop, go for the DD block or better yet the the EK one. If its a 3/8 loop, go for the koolance one.

If you've got on that sucks IN yes... But that extra ramdac rose to almost 90c under load (from 1mm away, thermohawk thermometer) without airflow. I modded a 120mm fan...

Ok update. I have started to order parts. I was just concerned about the plastic fittings on the Swiftech stuff. Should I buy new fittings? Should I buy the fancy EK or Swif ones or just go to my local hardware store?
