STEP 2
got the cpu block, hose, fans, lights, and fill port today. still waiting on some parts.

i'm running the pump to the radiator then down to the cpu (had to order a 90 degree nozzle) then cpu to the res. clearly its still in the rough stages but its sorta coming together. 4" red ccfl behind the res. 12" uv at top behind the rad. 12" uv on the door. looks like the finished project will be lighted pretty awesome i think.

danger den fillport in the haf's factory cut hole

somebody ordered all the bitspower 90 degree nozzles from sidewinder right before i placed my order so i'm on hold for a couple days until they can get more in. they said the person ordered a dozen...who the hell needs a dozen 90's in a computer.

random question...can you mount a 120mm radiator onto a kama bay? just trying to get ideas for whenever i upgrade.

Take the fillport out, take off the top panel and put the fill port UNDER the ON/OFF - Reset Panel, the rubber flap will now fit back in there nicely ;)

i would probably end up dropping the metal plug in between and it would end up causing more problems. its not really a big deal for me to have a little bump in the flap.

luckily my old case fans were really loud because all the fans i have in this one make around the same amount of noise. also the front power led's are SUPER bright. i had to put tape over them and might just have to disconnect them.

well while your still building try my suggestion, its neater and more functional, trust me I played around ;)
as for the super right LED's theres a few things you can do, a) a very light sand of the LED, makes them opaque, b) buy some instant frost effect and spray the LED or if you trust yourself mask of the LED opening and spray ;)

i'll look into it when i get home. i don't need a hose clamp on the fill port since there's no pressure on it do i?

my GTZ is leaking from the back! should it look like this when taken apart? it looks like the bulge things on the top and bottom keep it from sealig

Did it leak before or after you took it apart. I have that block and it's funny, because I simply opened up the package, put the barbs on, and installed it. Why bother taking it apart? Just do a leak test.

If it's leaking inspect the gasket....make sure there aren't any tears, wrinkles, misaligned, etc. And when you put it back together make sure that you tighten it nicely so that the gasket is fully compressed.

I think the bulge your talking about is the gasket. It should be "bulging" to that affect so that when you put it back together....it will compress, hence sealing the water out.

i took it apart because it leaked water all over my mobo and video card. it wasn't plugged in so there hopefully won't be any damage. do you see what i'm talking about at the top and bottom of the silver part? its raised and when i look at the copper plate the rubber seal hasn't worn off at all in those areas which is why i'm thinking its defective.

anyone out there take there's apart and know if mine is messed up?
you can see the raised metal

here you can see where the gasket didnt seem to seal

I see, my bad, you definitely did it right. I hope your just running distilled water when you had that leak, and not running any additives. Make sure to dry it out though obviously. I can't really tell from that pic, but your saying it's warped or bent? If it is then it's defective.

I see, those two raised metal areas. Not sure, that looks as if those are suppose to be there, hopefully someone else chimes in.

it was just pure distilled water. i just poured in a little bit and looked and freaked out. i have my fan blowing on the stuff now so hopefully i can put it all back in my old case until i figure this problem out.

and yeah they look like they're meant to be there but its the only thing i Can see that would cause it not to seal properly

I'd send it back. Perhaps the metal is slightly warped causing a leak some how...but no need to play guessing games, I'd just call the place you bought it from, or contact
swiftech to get it replaced.

i sent jab-tech an email so we'll see what happens tomorrow. i should have just bought everything from sidewinder because i know i could talk to someone right now and have it taken care of in no time at all. i think those raises in the metal are the problem, there's just no reason for them to be there.

got everything back in my old case with the air cooler and it seems to be running fine. glad nothin got ruined.

swiftech said they'll rma it so i'm just waiting for them to email me the instructions i guess. i'm so bummed cuz this is just one more thing i'll have to wait on. i didn't even get to leak test the rest of my setup.

swiftech sorta screwed me over by making me pay to ship back their defective product. John over at jab-tech was good enough to call them up and have them ship a new one asap and he's going to cover the shipping fees for me. so jab-tech def gets a thumbs up here and swiftech two thumbs down.

Every vendor on the face of the planet asks you to ship a defective product back to them at your expense. You may get around this under certain circumstances, but this occurrence is rare.

What Jab-Tech did is *not* normal.

Don't expect such service in the future (as shitty as this fact is).

ok. i've never really had trouble with anything i've ever ordered online. when i told jab-tech about it he seemed surprised that they would make me pay to ship their broken product back to them. i was pretty surprised too since their defective product could cause thousands of dollars in damage. hopefully the new one won't leak and i'll be good to go. thanks for info too so i know what to expect in the future.

I've dealt with jab tech before and they are great. I normally shop at petras but stuff over there tends
to get out of stock quick.

thats the downside of dealing with the vendor directly, most of them (all of them?) will ask you to cover shipping the product out to them, which tbh i dont have an issue with. i normally prefer to deal with the vendor directly.

Yeah, JT are great guys, but most vendors and suppliers are not :).

Just a fact of the computer industry.

jab-tech, petras, sidewindercomputers, etc. are all good to me. I've never had to return anything due to a defect though.

well my 2nd gtz finally came today and its not leaking so everything is hooked up. temps with the plastic film on were 10C cooler and temps with the plastic film off seemed to be another 8C cooler than that. just ordered all my i7 parts so i'll be upgrading to that real soon. here's the current stuff.

i also just ordered the i7 adapter and a fan controller cuz the 3 medium speed yates are pretty dang loud.

how exactly do you bleed the system? its obviously full of water and such and i've moved it around a lot while its running trying to knock any air loose. is there any certain thing i should be trying?

in my new build i'll have a i7 920 running around 3.8-4.0 i hope and i also just bought an evga gtx 260 55nm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130434&Tpk=1255ar and am wondering if my MCR320 will be enough for both. most people have said to run another rad for i7 and video card but a lot of reviews say this video card runs pretty cool. if i could run both off the 1 rad that would make things much easier. if that would be a tad too warm could i lower the cpu to 3.6 and make up for it?
