Hello everyone I'am building my new i5 pc I have almost everything I need ecept for the SSD
Right now I have a WD black 750gb, since I want to overclock my machine as far as the system
allow me to I want to build my first water cooling system for another reason is the noise
since I want to keep the pc in my room on 24/7 I want to have the less noise possible geting
out of the pc my case is a COOLERMASTER CM690.

What I want to cool? for now CPU and next year CPU and Ati 5850

I been reading in the faq's about the wcooling about how much maintenance etc. I have 2 question
about this

1.How do you think I will have to flush the system?

2.And what other maintenance it's involve with the Wcooling?


And this is how I kind of want the system in my case but again I'm a newb and need advice
and recomendations.

1.How I would like my W-cooling system? a RAD mounted in the top of the case where the 2 120mm or 140mm
can be fit. something that can allow me a clean install.

2.Reservoir? One reservoir that can be place in a part of the case with easy refill and I can see when the liquid is
going low. may one that can be mounted in a 5.25 bay.

3.Pump? A silent one that can cool down the cpu now and the video card in the future.

4.CPU block? One with good heat transfer

5.Hoses and accessories? Good ones that can be easy take apart from the system and prevent leaks.

I don't know if I'm missing something here but let me know.

I will apreciate if you can recomend me parts and a good website to buy them.

A couple of personal preferences.

Radiator Swiftech MCR 220 or 320.. they are far cheaper and perform just as well as anything else out there.

Pump/Rad - I prefer to run a DDC type pump(Swiftech MCP 350/355) with a xspc res top. Besides being VERY easy to fill and purge the system it means less tube and a cleaner setup.
 
I would like to get a 2 fan radiator I don't think the 3 fans one will fit in the top of the case, and I need a very good one since I would like to run the radiator fan no more than 1000rpm because I want to keep the noise as low as possible.

I think since it's the first time for me into the WC is there any kit that you guys can recommend me for my 1156 i5??
 
A kit would probably be a waste of cash. What case do you have? The fans that come in it will probably dictate what radiators can be easily installed. Have you looked into one of those pump/reservoir combos? After that, it's just a matter of what block you want.
 
Petras has a good kit, at most you will just need to buy a mounting kit for the cpu block
or get an evga p55 with 775 mounting holes

I'd have to agree with Tom's idea on Petra's kit. Is the first watercooling rig you've worked on? If it is, it's not a bad idea to have a kit with all the parts already pre-selected.

That being sad, although Petra's kit is fairly priced, in that you'd spend that much if not a little more buying the parts on your own, it's always the best value to select your own Watercooling components.

About flushing your rig, if you use both PT nuke biocide and pure silver kill coils I don't see really see the need to flush it, unless you notice a buildup.

I'm using a kill coil I made up with silver wire I bought from a jewelry supplier and it's been 6 months in sunlight, and the water is as clear as when i built the rig.
