First time WCing

This is my first time WCing a computer. I would like your input on if this set up would work.
I am going to use: RBX, maze 4 for the chipset, NV-78, a dual 120mm radiator and a dual 80mm radiator.
This is how i plan to place them

and i was think of separating the cpu loop and the chipset/gpu loop. The cpu would use the dual 120 radiator and the chipset and gpu would use the dual 80mm radiator.

If you bother using two radiators, make seperate loops. I could be wrong on this, but I think a CPU/chipset/7800 setup should be just fine with a dual 120 radiator. However, by the looks of your system it seems like you have extra money to spend so I would say go ahead with the dual loop system. The graphics card puts out enough heat that I might have it use the dual 80 radiator and then put the CPU and chipset on the dual 120. Finally, don't fight the natural flow of air. Don't bring in air from the top and shoot it out the bottom, bring it in the cooler bottom and put it out the top where hot air will collect.
 
Thanks for your input. I would set it up as you said and and grills near the radiators so the get sufficient air.
Lastly I would like to know which radaitor is better the Black Ice Xtreme 2 or the Black Ice Xtreme 2 X-Flow.

I am not sure what to say in those regards. The HWlabs web site rates them both for the same energy output (both the same KCals of heat per hour) but the XFlow is a little bit thicker and longer so it might make sense that it would perform better. The XFlow I guess has larger pipes for the water but I have no idea since the very company doesn't even change the heat output ratings :confused: :confused: :confused:
 
That is weird, the only difference is that the X-flow is a single-pass and the Xtreme II is a double-pass. I am guessing that since the Xtreme II has more resistance and flow would be slower but in turn cooling the water even more, and even more since the water will travel double the distance of the X-Flow. Maybe later I will buy the X-Flow and test which one is better. Thanks Deadlierchair for your posts. :)

Logically that makes sense to me too. More surface area for the water and metal to interface should mean the heat from the water should be absorbed by the metal better and then transferred to the air faster. There are other things to look at though I think because more resistance should mean less flow and that could affect your overall performance. You might have some luck finding reviews of these radiators but comparison reviews in water cooling don't tend to be that common (except for the occassional waterblock round-up). Good luck!
