First time watercooling (with pics)

Hey, I've just finished fitting my new watercooling kit I bought off a fellow forum member over at overclockers.com.au. So far working a charm. Idles at 31c and loads at 35c with the fan at 7v. Very happy with this :) With the fan at 12v I get load temps of around 32-33c depending on the ambient in the room.

Just a quick question tho, the fan came bolted to the radiator and is pulling the air through it rather than pushing. Would it better if it was pushing rather than pulling in regards to temp and noise?

The tubing from the radiator is only temporarily coming in through the side of the case until I drill some holes in the back of the case.





Tell me what you think, and if any improvements can be made.
 
Nice setup. As far as noise is concerned, there isn't a difference between pulling and pushing, just how fast the fan is spinning. It'd be better to have it pulling air out of the case IMO. You may want to consider a shroud, but it'd only make a degree or 2 difference.
 
Yeh the fan that came with it is really wide and is quite noisy on 12v, but on 7v is it pretty much silent as I can't hear it over my other fans. But i'm really happy with how it turned out :)
 
leave the set up just how you have it. Mine is the same way. Not only are you pulling cool air through the rad (which is the best way), the air doesn't get that warm from the rad so you still are introducing cool air into the case. If you can, put a fan at the front of the case pulling the air out, that way you have a wind tunnel effect.

I always liked the idea of have the rad on the outside of the case, much cooler.

I drilled holes like you are talking about so the tubes don't go to the side of the case, the go by the pci slots. I don't have a problem with room, so you should be fine as well.
