Hi there,
Last year I decided to build my dream system and this year I want to start watercooling it. It's my first time though so I don't know what parts work best with each other and which ones has the best price/performance. I don't really have a max budget but I would like to keep it under 500 if possible. I am only planning to overclock the CPU. I just want to keep the noise down with watercooling as my SLI is kinda making a lot of noise in AAA games.
My PC specs:
I7 4790K
Dual Gtx Gigabyte G1 Gaming 970
Gskill RipjawsZ 2400mhz 32GB
Asus RoG Hero VII
EVGA Supernova 1000P2
Phanteks Enthoo Luxe (love this case) with:
Tripple Noctua NF-A15 in the top
Dual Phanteks PH-F140SP in the front
BitfenixSpectre Pro in the back
Dual Corsair AF 120 in the bottom
So I was thinking about two different builds:
First: A H220x with an extra 420mm Rad and two GPU blocks, problem is though that the H220x has to be in the front and that I have to buy a hdd 5.25 bay mount.
Second: Alphacool NexXxoS Cool answer 240 D5/XT also with an extra 420mm Rad and two GPU blocks, though here I would place it in the bottom so I would still have my HDD cage. This option is 45 more expensive.
My question is: Is it worth it? (which I mean is the Alphacool NexXxoS Cool answer 240 D5/XT better than a h220x and enough for the extra 45) Do you guys know a better alternative?
Also I found two GPU blocks for my G1 970 gaming:
Alphacool NexXxoS GPX Nvidia Geforce 970 M03 which is 79,- a piece
and the EK-FC970 GTX WF3 which would be 109,- without a backplate (though maybe it is possible to use the stock backplate of my g1 gaming?)
It would be a 60 difference because I need two of them, so is there a big difference performance wise?
