I am planning to add water cooling to my new rig (seen in my sig).

I am currently only planning to add in my processor (Q6600) and north bridge (680i) into the loop. I'm not gonna bother adding in my graphics card until I upgrade to an 8800 sometime late this year. The processor will be running at 3GHz or above, most likely with a 1333MHz or higher FSB.

I am also planning to use 3/8" ID tubing for this project (thats what seems to fit best with the parts).

What are your thoughts on the parts and pieces I have picked out below. If I've left anything out, please let me know. Thanks! :)I want decent parts, but I also don't want the most expensive, lest I go broke trying to cool down my computer. ;)

Also, on a side note, I am looking for some good 120mm fans to go with the liquid cooling. If I can find some really good ones (55+ CFM and <25dbA, or as close as possible), I would like to replace all the fans in my TJ07 with the new fans. I think the Scythe S-FLEX SFF21E comes the closest thus far. Opinions?

Danger Den May not be on top at the moment but I would look for discounts on their site. DD > Koolance over all IMO. They still have a deal on the pump and block I believe, and if you want to save cash use the master clear 5/8th inch tubing and order it direct from....Someone? 9% trader Joes ale is the shizzle, haha. I hear you on the budget I change my hardware often enough and have plenty of other hobbies to sink money into where the value does not degrade so fast. And honestly a deg or 2 is not worth $20 IMO, water cooling allows OC with silence if done right, although the new air coolers are much better than back in the day when we paid $70 for a hunk of copper and 80m fans.

I'm not a believe in Future proof but it's more likely you will keep the same radiator for longer than your CPU/GPU blocks.

I'm an old Panaflo L1A fan + fan controller fan (if you can ifnd them). Nice pressure, great reliabilty. And you can crank them up a bit more than other silent fans in general. I usualy have mine running full since I really don't notice unless it is real quiet (then I turn them down if they bother me).

So IMO ThermoChill Radiator + CPU Block of choice (DD> Coolance but I like swiftech stuff too and hell there are other good blocks as well just not happy Swiftech they mix Copper and Aluminum now). I just use Pentosin for coolant, and worm drive clamps (hose clamps from lowes/home depo) or ALL connections, but I'm too lazy to use other coolans and screw with my system all the time. It has been over 2 years since I changed the coolant althouhg I did top it off once.

I hope this helps, but I'm not impressed with the koolance stuff.

You will get "better" responses in the liquid cooling forum so I'm not going to request but it it should be moved there probably.

Whoops! I didn't even see the sub-forum.

If a mod sees this, can you please move this thread to the Water Cooling sub-forum?
I would much appreciate it. Thank you!

The Panaflo fans look nice, but my goal is to not have to worry about fan controllers. That's more wires and parts hanging around my case, that I would really rather not have. I would rather get some nice fans that are quiet at the stock 12V. :)
