First time overclocking, need help please

Hi

My specs:
6900k
Kraken X61
Asus X99 A-II
Corsair DDR4 32GB 3200mhz
GTX 980TI SLI
eVGA G2 1000w

How exactly do I need to set BIOS to achieve 4.2ghz?

Some say I need to use XMP profile some say I should avoid it entirely and set it to manual. I'm kinda confused already

Can any experts help me please
