Hey guys I wanna overclock my new system just a bit for starters any know of any good guides for a noob at this?

My new box is a e6600 on a badaxe2, 2gb xms2 800 ram and I also have a 650w psu...

Oh heh guess it would be good to know...

I put it all in a armorjr case so there's good airflow from front to back and I put a Tt big typhoon on my cpu

LOL, I'm in the same situation, CPU mag. had a huge feature article about it a few months back, thats what I am going to try and use as a guide. It is very informative and leads you step-by-step, so you can easily understand. I suggest picking it up!

BUMP

Badaxe2 owner here looking to oc'ing for the first time. Want to do an easy moderate overclock. I use my rig for digital photo manipulation and storage so I can't be wasting my time recovering from overagressive overclocks. Also don't want to risk frying theHD with my photos (I do use external storgae as a backup).
I have E6600, Zalman cooler, 4 GBs of OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 1066MHz RAM, Antec 550 Watt PSU, Antec P180 case
Any suggestions for a simple, easy stable OC?
Any online step by step guice?

There are guides all over the place for this stuff guys :)

There is a sticky here at the top of the forum, another one thats MB specific but also pertains generally to your situations in the MB section, Intel area.

Other places have noob guides just google. Toms hardware guide has an overclocking how to and their forums (one of them is the same one as the sticky here) and here is the other othere one.

There are also guides at Anandtech forums and in a loads of other enthusiast websites.
