I posted on here before but i need to ask an extra question.
Basically, ive never ever overclocked anythng before and I want to learn. I understand my Sapphire Radeon 9800pro Atlantis 256bit 128mb R350 is not a great card anymore, its a good card but not great so I would like to get maximum performance out of this card.
From what i learnt, you download ati tool, adjust the sliders for the memory and core speed by small amounts, like 5mhz at a time, then you test your system for any crashes, bugs or errors. And if all is fine you increase it again and again until you see stuff go wrong. When stuff goes wrong, you move the sliders back a little and test again.
this is correct yes?
ok now the cooling, since my card is a r350, i have no idea how hot my card will run, so its a good idea to get a good cooler like a VGA silencer. This I understand should cool the card enough to get a decent overclock but someone told me that only covers the core of the card and not the memory. Someone said something about ram sinks...
1) whats this? where do i get them from and how do i install them?
2) What does increasing the memory slider do in terms of performance on its own and what does increasing the core speed do to the card?
