Well its come time to graduate from normal system builder to....overclocker! My current rig is a 2.8 p4 c, 1gb corsair value ram, intel 875pbz mobo, and 5900 ultra. I play video games mostly, with alot of other small work being done on the computer. I know i will be upgrading to a socket 939 system with a sempron 64 2800+, my only problem is choosing a motherboard. I would like to keep the motherboard cost low simply because i know i will need to buy some good ram to take the fsb to high levels. As of right now the best oc'ing motherboards seem to be from DFI and Asus. Ii know im going with the semp 2800+ and 2gb of ram. This ram looks good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231021. Anyone with good recommendations for a nice sempron 64 socket 939 setup holler!

it appears that socket 939 semprons arn't even available online...doh there goes my upgrade strategy...

Why not just get an AMD 64 3200+. They're cheap as chips at the moment. You might wanna look at gettin' an Epox NF4 mobo if you want somethin' cheap but can still overclock.

My last board was an Epox. Not NF4 though but it wasn't bad at all and I've been told that the new Epox boards are quite good.

With a good chip, the board is a lot more likely to be a limiting factor, rather than ram. You can always run the ram at a dividier - this doesnt hurt performance because of the A64's integrated memory controller.
