Hiya..

I've got an E4400 and the stock heatsink. I'm fiddling with the bios and I get my system overclocked or so it looks like. After I boot up Windows it really doesn't seem any faster but it says it's running at 3.3ghz. No matter what I change my OC settings to it says it's running at 3.3ghz until I put it back to stock. I don't get it. I'm just trying to get this baby at a stable 3GHZ and leave it be.

Does this make any sense at all?

Oh. My motherboard is GIGABYTE GA-P35-S3L LGA 775 Intel P35. I also used a couple different tools to OC my GeForce 8600GT and I don't see any results with that either.

Assuming you're at the 10x multi...

What board are you using? If you're using a FSB1333 board, it may have forced FSB333 (x10) to give you 3330MHz.

If its stable at that... consider your self having received a free overclock. (The next step would be to drop the multiplier, and keep raising FSB speed.)

If not... then that's just weird.

Right. What I don't understand is even when I change the FSB and/or the multiplier it stays the same. I've tryed 8x multiplier, 9x, 10x,etc. It keeps saying E4400 2.0ghz @ 3.33ghz when I look at my system properties.
