I am looking at purchasing some new pieces to my gaming rig in preparation for the slew of games releasing this fall.

EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory x2

EVGA 768-P2-N835-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

I'm looking to hit 3.0 processor OC, I don't know if the combination above is capable of it together. If anyone could offer suggestions or possibly references to this combination I would be most appreciative. I think it will all work, but I am worried about the stability of it all.

all comments are welcome, rip it apart if you must!

we are building twin rigs, we'll be using the Zalman 9700 to cool the CPU's.

And we will be getting them at compusa to ensure we get the G0 (SLACR in the batch code, right?) stepping.

No suggestions from anyone? surely someone will help a pair of newbie OC'ers out?

Are you planning to so SLI? If not I STRONGLY urge you not to choose that board. I personally when out today and picked up a P5K deluxe seeing as my 4th RMAd board, yes 4th, came DOA. Just a few minutes ago I reached 3.6ghz on my Q6600 with very little effort.

Those are the same exact parts i plan on using when i build my rig. For cooling am going to go with the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme and Scythe S-FLEX 120mm Fan. The P5k and the evga are about the same price, so i dont know about that. I know that the evga board is a great overclocker though.

If you dont plan to SLI in the future, get abit ip35 and if you plan to OC on stock HSF, GL.:D Grab an ultima 90 or 120 extreme with corresponding fans.....will help temps on that quad. Highly recommended.;)

Stay away from the EVGA board like people said....the only thing guaranteed with it is a BRICK WALL! Otherwise just pop for a quality cooler and 3k shouldn't be an issue.
