Nope.Did you remove the older drive ?
Here is to hoping.
All of it done.update the latest firmware, install on native intel SATA controller port, enable AHCI, use windows 7 so u can use TRIM. Done.
No worries, here are the simple steps.Just want to thank you for making this thread. It will help me a lot when I install my first SSD tomorrow.
Thanks, I got it all set up now. the 1.5 firmware was already installed. Im getting about 250MB/s read speeds with HD Tune. It should be about double that shouldn't it?No worries, here are the simple steps.
Ensure partition you want to clone is smaller or equal size to SSD
Clone partition using Acronis. Within acronis, first use Add disk to recognize the SSD.
Then clone partition.
When OS reboots into recovery environment through acronis, select shut down after completion of process
Once shut down, disconnect the main drive
Reboot with SSD at least once
Reconnect main drive and ensure that boot priority is set to SSD
Now you can switch between old drive and new SSD drive through F8 whenever needed.
All should be well. In case you fubar your bootloader, post here and I can help you with that.

What motherboard and controller are you using it on?
im on a Sabertooth Z77. I dont know what controller.
Well, if you are only getting 250 MB/s, it sounds like you may have it on a SATA2 controller instead of the SATA 6GB one. Should be on the brownish ones at the end, not the ones in the middle or the gray ones.
You have to store it on a hard drive (with enough free space to fit the image). When you want to restore the image, you can boot off the Windows recovery disk (and I think also the install disk, but I'm not positive of that) and choose the image to restore from.
I also have mine connected to the gray SATA port since that is what is said as the 3 GB/sec port in the manual. The other navy blue ports are identified as marvell SATA 3 GB/sec and all the light blue ones are SATA 2 as per the manual. Could someone with an ASUS P8Z68-V Pro tell me if this is correct or do I also have to connect to navy blue ports?
