hello, building antec aria, intel d865glc motherboard, 3.2 northwood. 2gig kingston. im using the book, building the perfect pc as a guide and it states on pg320 that after all componets are installed in the case, to set bios jumper to configuer mode and start comp and when the bios setup screen appears to chose the menu option to clear all bios data and then reset the clock, save changes and exit. then return jumper to normal mode. but i cant find an option to clear all bios data in the bios. the book uses the same mb/ processor im using so there shouldnt be a diff. anyone know what there talking about? does this sound like a nessasary step or can i skip over it? id like to get to installing winxp pro but dont want to skip an important step. thanks, tom.

I've never heard of such a thing. Maybe they mean clear your CMOS? but you do that on the motherboard, not in the BIOS.

There is a bios jumper on your motherboard that resets the bios when you change the jumper while the computer is off, hit power to try and turn it on, then while the computer is still off, reset the jumper back and it will boot with reset bios.

Look in your motherboard manual, it should be there if it has a good manual/look on the web site.
