I need a processor fan for my Athlon 3000+64 and I have no idea which one to get. This is my first time building a computer and I'm pretty clueless on the topic of processor fans. I'm looking for something that performs well but is moderately inexpensive. Suggestions?

MSI K8N Neo Platinum (nForce3 250Gb) motherboard
Chenbro Xpider Case check it out here

thats a nice case.. not too much for mods that can be done to it and i dunno about the bezel.. the functionality inside is great.. but in general you cant put a large cdrom in the bottom most cdrom bay cuz it gets in way of mobo.. if you do put one in make sure you dont chop off a cap or somthing

i have seen a lot of innovation lately in case design... its nice to see that everyone is innovating now instead of following the tried and true chenming design to the letter

as for the case. its ugly as shit.
i said i didnt like the bezel(in a nice way) but i like to see ppl actualy innovating on the insides

additionally a good ol' dremel fixes the side panel window

i fount the bezel disgusting myself

To be honest I don't give a crap what the case looks like. I'm buying it because (from what I read) it has good ventilation and air flow, and screwless slide rails all at a decent price. Seriously, who am I going to be showing it off to. It's gonna be sitting on my floor next to the desk. But this isn't a case forum. Any more suggestions on processor fans? I checked out the Thermaltake Venus 12 seen here and it seems like a powerful fan at a good price, although everyone complains it is loud.

i have a 48db fan, and i'll put it in perspective for you...take a hairdryer, and put it on the lowest setting...that's how loud mine is on high...granted it cools just as good on medium, it doesn't really matter, but yeah, its kind of loud. I would go with a Zalman, they usually make top-notch coolers
