first time building a SFF

i decided to make a SFF for the first time, and i want to see if my build works well. any suggestions? changes? thanks.

If you're gonna ask us to build/list a PC for you or seek advice about a build, please answer all of the following questions:

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.

the AC 7 one i mentioned was 92mm, so if 100mm is max, im sure itll fit then.

1. I will be gamming, but nothing modern or high end. Maybe bioshock and games around there. I will also be watching a lot of blu ray movies and ect. i will be getting a blu-ray drive in the future when the prices are lower.
2. my budget is 800USD, tax included, but i would really like to get the system as low as possible.
3. California, USA.

5.all new parts.
6. no overclocking. 3.0ghz C2D should be enough for what this SFF is made for.Right?
7.not sure yet, but max would be 1650x1080. nothing more than that. well, unless i hook it up to an hdtv, but i havent really decided yet.
8.soon, not in the far future. perhaps before january. im not going for anything core i7, so i think ill be fine building a computer then.
9.nothing special. single slot, no sli/crossfire, and such. just the standard. no raid.

The 92mm refers to the fan size, NOT the actual HSF size. According to Arctic Cooling, the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is 126.5mm tall, well above the 100mm limit.

Pretty similar to yours but with a slightly better motherboard and cheaper case.

If you want to save money, I suggest checking out the [H] FS/FT forum. You can find many parts there far cheaper than retail. I've been trying to sell a Lanbox Lite there for a few months, at less than half retail price, with no success.

Main advantages of the Gigabyte:
- Better company IMO. Gigabyte > MSI
- Slightly better overclocking
- Better placement of the 4Pin CPU power connector
- Little bit more clearance between the RAM slots and video card slot
- Little chance of a single or even dual slot video card from blocking the SATA ports

He's not gonna be able to hit high clocks with the Shuriken so that part of the mobo equation is pooped. With that combo I see no point in getting an e84, a e72/e73 or e52 will suffice.

well, i dont plan on OC the cpu so i dont think it will matter much. sso i think ill be fine with the shuriken and e84.

I would also suggest looking at the case in person or something of similar dimensions if possible. Technically the Lanbox might be an SFF, but in real life it is f'ing huge.

Heh I just sold my brand new Silverstone Sugo yesterday for $60 shipped.

Anyhow, the thermaltake case = ftl. For example they use 90mm fans. Very limited selections on 90mm fans.

Lanbox has ONE 92mm fan, yes it's a 92mm. You might as well say Silverstone FTL if you're comparing fan sizes.
