I have a blackmagic cinema camera
basically it produces 5MB RAW dng files.

My current specs are
i7 3930k
64GB DDR3 1333
Geforce 660ti 3GB
256GB SSD
Raid 0 with 2x 2tb Caviar Black
Cloud Backup + 4TB backup
H100 and Corsair 650d
2x Catleap 27" 1440p

The applications I plan on using are Da Vinci Resolve 9 + Adobe Premiere Pro + LightRoom

I was wondering what's the optimal RAID with
5x 3TB ST3000DM001
256gb SSD

I was thinking of getting a 6th one and 3x raid 0 + backups of those

5MB per frame?

RAID 0 should be fine on anything above 1TB and 7200 RPM, just looking for density and access times.. I was using 2x1TB for FRAPs which was something like 4GB every minute or two at 1920x1200 and it was very noticeable difference when trying to use the tracks timeline in Sony Vegas between the RAID 0 and a single drive.

If you are willing to duplicate your data (mentioned getting more drives) I would look at RAID 10, just for some immediate fault protection. Don't even think about RAID 5 or 6, the speed hit is way too important for this kind of work.
