First SLI system. Connecting my LCD.

I'm setting up my first SLI system. I'm using a 30" HP 3065 LCD and two 8800GTX cards. I've got one card in my Striker Extreme now and I have both dual link cables plugged into the card. When I add the second card do I leave the dual link cables connected to the current card or do I have to plug one cable into one card and the other into the second?

1 monitor cable to the top card, the connector closer to the motherboard. The cards are linked through the SLI connector so you don't need a second cable from your monitor... just 1
