OK I'm thinking of getting another gtx 680 but I wanted to know if its OK to sli 2 50" TVs? Will there be any benefits in doing so?
 
As long as it has the correct input, the size of the display shouldn't matter, only the resolution. That being said, I have tried to game on my TV and find there is too much input lag for my liking.

And since they are most likely 1080p screens, you should get 3 for surround.
 
On another note did you see any improvements in your gaming graphics?

its the same, no matter if are a 50" or 24" screen... the most difference on quality graphics will be minor things like colours, brightness, sharpness and of course input latency and ghosting that vary from diferent panels and brands (horrible on LG panels btw).. but any gaming diference on graphics? all will be the same if the we are talking about the same resolution..

also at least in my experience always gaming on TVs present ghosting and input lag. some tvs have a gaming mode wich reduce the input lag and reduce ghosting at the expense of decrease the quality of the image. i have a 40" 1080p samsung smart tv and gaming not present any kind of input lag but yes a bit of ghosting and blurry image when moving.. i only use it to play few games, like sports, racing or single player TPS. no more than that..

Do you even understand what SLI is? It has nothing to do with the amount of displays you have connected.

If you have 2 680s then you can still use a single display. If you have one 680 you can still use 2 displays if you wish.
 
I know but I wanted 2 50' tvs or 4 36' tvs. I don't know my plans yet but when the 680 reach the $300 sold mark on ebay then i'll pick up another one
 
I would personally do odd number monitor combos. IE: 1,3, or 5. If you do an even number of panels than the center of your view if using both while gaming, or movies, etc, will be right where 2 bezels meet.

the only exceptions would be top-down style games like Civilization, Diablo, etc. If you have an aiming reticle, you'll want odd numbers of screens.

additionally, if you're on Nvidia, the largest number of screens you can configure for NVsurround is 3. On 6 and 7 series cards that have enough outputs, you can use the DVI ports for the surround screens, and then HDMI or displayport for the 4th screen (if you're running SLI).

the largest number of screens for NVidia surround, regardless of the number of cards is 3+1.
the largest number of screens supported per card is 3, although older ones will only be capable of doing 2 screens per card. the largest number of screens you can support on SLI is 4 even if you don't have an Nvidia surround array configured.
if you need more than 4 screens with NVidia, each card will have to remain in a non-SLI configuration.

I remember hearing way back that not all fps games will support sli and its a pain to maintain and config. Any truth to that?

Its not too bad, get a program called widescreenfixer and it will help adjust your fov to keep fisheye to a minimum. I used surround for a while and it was a lot of fun, I ended up getting rid of it just because I had no desk space at all.

Most games that would even benifit from it will support it. Basically anything in the last 8years will utilize it.
The issue is with optimization for SLI/Crossfire.
