Ok, before you guys get mad, I have done research, and I have searched around... but there are still some things I'm unsure...
I have 2 WD 250gb HDD's that I'm going to do RAID 0 and install windows on...
The floppy my DFI Lanparty Mobo came with was a Silicone Images 3114 Raid Drivers v1.0.0.8...
When i start up the comp, it asked me to "press f10 to enter nvidia RAID ultility" so i did so...
I moved both my drives over to create the RAID array with optimal ( 64k ) stiping...
I created it, all went well, and it presented the combined drive for me, and I had to press "B" to set it to boot... done and done... so i "ctrl+x" to exit and pop in my windows xp sp2 CD...
Pressed F6 for 3rd party raid driver install, popped the floppy in, found the silicon image controller corresponding to my OS...
Then it went to the normal windows xp install stuff... but when I go to view the drives to install windows on.... It still shows up as 2 seperate drives??? They're both identical, so I just partitioned both and threw windows on one of them.... it's reformatting the drive now, but I just wanted to make sure I did everything correctly to setup my RAID 0 setup....
Or is there other steps after windows installs in order to complete the process? or is the RAID controller taking over already and will seperate the windows install into 64k segments onto each drive???
Thanks in advance,
- Sunny
