I have been following hard forums for a long time anonymously. I finally got an account so I could post and ask questions. Great community and even greater people here.

I just purchased two 6970's and they are pretty darn nice cards. I am just brand new to AMD video cards and am curious if I am doing something wrong as far as drivers.

I have two Sapphire Radeon 6970s properly xfire'd and they definitely haul butt like this in games. My question is driver related.

I installed the recently released 10.12a catalyst suite (it was like 120mb download). When I check my drivers in the information center this is what I see:

I have a virgin OS freshly installed and no video drivers were installed at all before applying 10.12a.

Can anyone verify I have the latest drivers installed. What confuses me is the fact it says catalyst version 10.11 but then again im a total noob to ATI/AMD.

Also are these temps normal during a game/benchmark? I have plenty of airflow in my case that is verified. This is AVPDX11 benchmark just to show my temps:

Thanks a million!

This is something you should probably ask ati driver support first before asking video card forum.

Chances are they could have forgotten to just update the driver number before releasing the driver.

Catalyst 10.12a = Catalyst 10.11 plus a ton of 6970/50 performance optimizations (also added the 5X1 support for Eyefinity6 cards)

That's why it probably shows up as 10.11

Catalyst 10.12 = 10.12 the latest driver for all cards except the 6970/50 .

I would say that your highest temp of
77.78 degrees Celsius and lower temp of 66.11 Celsius are well withing range for a benchmark @ 84% GPU usage

you dont mention the GPU Fan %

As suggested above you should ask someone from ATI for verification on the driver . You can go Here for good info on the driver versions

Thanks I will attempt to see if AMD ever responds to a question. Its not a big deal i was just wondering if I need to take my heatsink off clean the paste and reapply with something better.
