Ok so im in the middle of my first overclocking project, trouble is im using relativley old components

System

M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition
AM2 AMD Processor Dual Core 2.3Ghz (i think (its in bits)lol)
4 Gig Kingston Ram
1Tb HD (split between 2 drives (also looking to set up my first raid arry))
Hypser PSU
QUAD SLI

would like some help with voltages, timings, frequancy's and setting up the raid. I have more HDD's to go in the machine but i got to retreive them first so im waiting for the backup on the other machine to complete

wait your using quad SLI on that ancient system?

we need to know the exact processor.. also note that the board your using has a known issue with overclocking and wireless support.. so that if you overclock to far you lose the wireless portion of the motherboard. other then that it shouldn't be to difficult.. may hit a limit with the ram before the cpu.. but thats the fun part of this..

yea its got quad sli. Though im not shure if it runs as quad sli as i have never seen any settings or anything on the software side to do with the quad sli.

Im not shure exactly what the 2 boards are but both are Nvidea and they both take extra power from the PSU. Both the cards are in the PCIE slots, and both the cards contain 2 seprate boards in a layerd configeration, and both cards have 2 fans on them, one on each circut board.
Im assuming is SLI as i have never looked to much in to crossfire and they are conected with a littile bridge card thingy

This makes for a total of 4 circut boards spread between 2 pcie cards

First off, your full of it. You are not running a quad SLi off that board.
Expansion slots: PCI Express x16 2 .
When someone posts (especially their first post) BS information do not expect folks to take their time out to help.

when some ones been on this site for 8 days and is talking out of their ass...

all it needs is 2 PCI-e x16/8 slots to run quad SLI and vista or windows 7..

so trying to rip on the new guy was the biggest failed attempt ive ever seen.. so go back in your hole before you finish making a fool out of your self..

when i brought up the quad SLI part.. i said it because the current system he has would insanely bottleneck the gpu's and that it's a waste of time to even bother overclocking it.. at a minimum with quad SLI he would need a phenom II 9850.. preferably a phenom II 940-965..

we still need to know exactly what you have cpu wise.. and memory speed wise.. is it ddr2 800? ddr2 667? is it generic kingston? or is it kingston hyperX? all this information will help us determine what kind of overclocks you can get.. as for the raid array.. ive honestly found them to be a waste of time.. i currenty have 25TB of hard drive space spread out over 4 systems and not one of them uses raid..

I wouldn't attempt an over clock on that system, hows the cooling?Aftermarket air or water? I'm guessing air...The hyper transports, ram, cpu config is a pain in the ass to get right when overclocking amd chips.. Well for me anyway, good luck....

He sounds like he just dont know what hes talking about, not that hes lying

its not hard.. you just need to remove a lot of the variables in overclocking a non black edition processor.. by dropping the HTT to the lowest setting.. and setting the ram to its lowest stable setting.. then just working on the cpu.. once you have maxed that out.. ya go back and work on the HTT.. get that stable.. then go back and do the ram and get that stable.. a lot of work but not as difficult as it may look..

well long story short i studyed the same computer course for 6 years, because because of my dyscalculia and aspergers syndrome the education system majorly screwed up so i ended up doing the same computer course 6 times for 6 years. now im 22 now and when in was 16 i still thought i was going to take over the world, buy out microsoft and apple and be bigger then bill gates and MJ (RIP) put together.
However 6 years of studying the same computer course is extreamily boaring so i switched over to music last year. I been studying music now for 2 years, and guess what. I've been missing computers so much i whant to go back to studying them lol. Anyway i have 4 computers that im rebuilding and i have just finished taking apart the old quad sli rig. The GPU's that were in it were actually MSI lol (epic fail right there i know lol)
They are the MSI NX7950GX2. They are huge lol they take up 2 pci brackets lol
