Hello. I'm looking for my first LCD; it will be sitting next to my 21" IBM p260; replacing an old Dell 17" in a dual monitor setup.

I want it to sit at about the same height as my 21" CRT; and be widescreen preferably.

I am looking at the Dell 2007, as my price max would be ~300usd.

I plan on using the LCD as gaming monitor if games support it widescreen and the native resolution (crt if they don't), and movies/etc while i program or do whatever else on the crt; in all likelihood (or other way around possibly.

Are there any other monitors I should be looking at? My roomate has the original 20.1" dell widescreen lcd; and I like the look of it.

Also, my BFG 6800GT has one VGA and one DVI out; i have my 21" in the DVI currently; using a VGA cable with the crt should not lower the image quality should it? I am extremely happy with the performance of that monitor to this point.

The Dell 2007's visable height is about the same as a 19" CRT (but much wider of course). So you may need to go bigger if you want the same vertical viewing area.
But I guess if your roomate has a 20" widescreen and you like that size, then disgregard my comments.

I've narrowed it down to a few i think. I think i'm going to drop price vertical size a little regardless less i spend an inordinate sum of money. I am actually scared of backlight bleeding on the Dell; though it seems to be the best of the lot overal. Any others I should be looking at? I do not have a costco near me so would be paying the 5% non member fee. Thx again for any opinions.
