Iv been using AMD for all my builds for a while now.
However, I just built a system that is based around a Pentium D805 2.66Ghz, an Intel D102Ggc2 mobo, and a one gig stick of Gskill DDR 2. The computer has been very unstable and has crashed all of the time. There is no blue screen. The computer just restarts as if someone hit the reset button. Sometimes when it comes back into windows i get this error.

BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : 80000004 BCP2 : EEA3920D BCP3 : F7933B6C
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1

This poblem has been driving me nuts. The computer was in a back room. I moved the computer into my room and started testing it. I tested the ram with microsoft windows memory diagnostic, I ran prime 95, i ran quake 3 all night. It did not crash. I replaced the psu with a 600w one that i know works. I was about to say that it was fine and put it back in the other room. However it crashed with that error message just a few minutes ago.
What does that error mean. Could it be a bad cpu. On that note i also checked the temps and they are fine. [H]ARD Forum! Help!
Iv built machines with inel procs before but not for a long time. I decided to go back to intel for this machine and I know its not their fault but this has pissed me off so much that ill probably stick with AMD for my next build. I know when it restarts with the error its some kind of problem with windows. But when it just flips on and off in the middle of something and there is no error after!?!?!?! that kind of sucks. Also no overclocking. Stock memory timings 4.4.4.12. memory is 533 and PCI latency is default 64 in the bios. Help keep me in the intel camp and tell me what the is up with this machine.

So it runs completely stable in your room, but crashes in the back room? Did you ever run an AMD system in the back room?

It could be that the wiring in your house/apartment/whatever is just faulty in the back room and isn't delivering a stable current, or maybe airflow issues with the case depending on where you are putting it in each room? If a machine runs completely stable in one room, and unstable in another, the chances are it isn't a hardware issue.

Not sure if you have tried formatting and reinstalling Windows? Could be a bad installation that's gone corrupt. And... maybe update to latest BIOS or drivers?

I think it might be the wiring in the back. I have it stable in here now. It has only crashed one time in my room while running a game. Iv been running so many tests im sure it would have crashed if it were someting with the components.
ill look at the links and see if they help
thanks for the responses.

It's prolly one of three things....

1: temp
2: PSU
3: Power from the wall.
4: MB
5: Corrpted file on the harddrive

:D

Most likely if its just in that one room..... is that the back room is on a shared circuit with something like an A/C unit, when it kicks in the power dip causes errors, seen it happen before. Its like a mini brown out, b/c its not getting a strong/clean current.

Or maybe something weird & random, like that room gets hammered with more radio waves (garage door openers, etc) or you're too close to speakers (magnets), etc?
