First GTX 465 REVIEW....

If the GTX 275 is keeping up with then obviously the 465 is severely bound by its memory bandwidth.

Yeah, it looks like NVIDIA didn't learn anything from the 5830's release. The card isn't that terrible of a performer at lower resolutions, but gamers who play at those resolutions don't buy $280 cards, and the GTX 465 still isn't worth anything near $280. At least the 5830 is finally selling below $200, so that's something to consider in that range (although there isn't much else there to consider).

What a disaster of a card. Get a used GTX 280 for a bit over half the price.

On the plus side, that review shows the 480 delivering a crushing beatdown to the 5870. Looks like it doesn't compete very well against nvidia's newer drivers.

that review does not seem to be accurate at all tbh...

their 480 have sky high fps compare to actual testing, even with latest driver.. its nearly impossible unless they pull out some magic 480 in there..
not even my 22% OC 480 can do those number..

It's not a "disaster" card unless they launch it at that $280 price point. It does trade blows with the 5850 in a couple tests, but unfortunately in others it gets destroyed (reminds me of the 5830).

If it were around $50 less, it would sell like hotcakes...but I don't think Nvidia can make money selling it at that price.

Looks like they crippled the card a bit too much. It's not really any faster than my current GTX 260 black (about dead even with the 280/275 with it's factory overclock), which is a serious dissapointment. I was hoping it to be a good buy but at $280 I'll pass.

Guys please read the review and don't just read the numbers and see what the author has to say at the end of each game. It is not slower then the gtx 275, when you run gtx 275 in dx10 and gtx 465 in dx11 then it is slower. OP needs to change the misinforming info in the original post and let the reader judge on their own. It whoops the gtx 275 in a lot of games, how is it a disaster. I am no nvidia fanboy but whats wrong is wrong, in some games obviously it is limited by drivers or something else, but it dows outperform in a lot of games by a good margin.

If priced right. It could be a winner.

Both the GTX 465 AND HD 5830 are priced wrong and disasters in there own right. Read the end of the review and it states as much ;)

Honestly, if the 5830 was $175 and the GTX465 was $210 they would be fantatic.

The 5830 I have has been fantastic and was 80 bucks lower then the closest 5850 in Canada. 175 for a 5830 would have been down right stupid of Ati, seriously. Especially the Sapphire/Gigabyte versions which are almost guaranteed 1000 core.

It's a hell of a lot better then most of the reviews suggested.

This 465 looks horrendous though. Unless it has MASSIVE oc potential I don't see the point, other then a super expensive PhysX card.

Their numbers don't seem right.

I read it but the numbers just don't seem right. As always, can't wait for the [H].

I just read this to get some type of preview.

The dirt2 numbers seemed too high, are they running it in DirectX 10 and don know it? I remember reading earlier that this was a problem on 400 series earlier in the demo.

You can get a 5850 for $280 in Canada. And at one point they were available for $260.

Most will probably opt for the HD 5850, particularly if they OC.

It's still early though, [H]ard's results may be different.

[H]ard results have the 470 and 5850 neck and neck, I doubt a much slower card will change that picture. Of course those fabled new drivers might change the picture, so we will see.

i've been a big fan of Nvidia but the 400 lineup is pretty much FAIL
i'm steering clear of it.

This card is a joke, its just as bad as ATI's 5830. And I heard that this card is going to replace the GTX 470 which is bullshit. If NVIDIA is going to use this card to make a dual Fermi this will never defeat ATI's 5970.

The GTX465 is not a bad card but looks to have a terrible price. It needs to be priced in line with the HD5830, which sell for ~$200-220 now.

I picked up my HD5830 for $200, a $30 DP-to-VGA adapter, and 2 more monitors 22" last month. Overclocked my HD5830 and it's running my Eyefinitey setup with 3 22" 1680x1050 monitors great. May crossfire another in the furture, but for now one is working fine.

Both the 5830 and the GTX 465 fail.

At this point, comparsions are worthless as they both get ownd by the cheaper 4890.
