first ever killer gaming rig

I am envious, very nice system.

Ah nothing like throwing a bunch of new parts together and having one hell of a machine. Reminds me my P42.8C is starting to get dated

the whole thing turned out really great. worth every penny. all in all including the lcd monitor, the speakers, the new peripherals: $2600ish... not too shabby i think...
 
damn i like that red mobo...never seen that before. too bad you have nVidia...an ATi card with the red mobo would be pretty dope

as far as i know they have just came out with 16X...or at least developing it. i remember they were scared the hard drive wouldnt be able to keep up with a 16X dvd drive lol...but it works
 
update (after using it for forever):

so... i just checked the power logs for the new system, and it's been on for a total of 42 days now and is rock solid... here goes with the laundry list:

OC (on stock air cooling) 2.6 ghz stable (11x236) vcore: 1.6
Ram Timings: 2.5-3-3-6, 1:1 ratio, ddrv 2.8
6800gt: 425 core/ 1230 mem (needless to say, i was amazed, +15/+130 over ULTRA speeds)
pci/agp locked (of course)

3dmark01: 24969
3dmark03: 13452
3dmark05: 6992
Aquamark3: 74242

Doom3 timeDemo demo1: high quality, 1280x1024, all advanced options on:
noAA: 132 fps
2xAA: 107 fps
4xAA: 88 fps
8xAA: 51 fps
16xAA: 26 fps

i'm pleased... 2nd monitor will be here in 2 days!!
