i'm building my computer for the first time, i ordered all the parts off of newegg and had a friend help me pick out the parts to make sure they are compatible and I have everything into place, but the wires that go from the front panel into the mobo i can't seem to figure out, these wires are bugging me I have gone through the motherboard manual about 100 times and probably worked over 6 hours on this but i can't seem to get it to boot. what is absolutely necessary for the computer to boot up? and what should I try, i can't seem to get these into the right spot to get the computer to boot up.

The most important is the power switch. The motherboard should read something like, "powerSW" or power. The the cable itself should also read "power" Don't confuse that with the power LED. The pins should be located near the bottom right of the motherboard or the area closest to the front panel. There should be a whole row of pins with tiny text printed onto the motherboard describing their function.
The manual should detail this.
