Hey there, I have a 2 year old MacBook that just can't keep up anymore with my everyday tasks, therefore I have considered building my own system. There's just one problem, I've never done it before and would appreciated some help on how to achieve this. For startes a list of parts that I will need would be greatly appreciated (power supply, hard drive, ect.). What I hope to get out of this is the best computer for me that I can build. I believe with some help this can be achieved. After getting through the basics then I would like to get into detail about each part.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming (I don't game right now but would like to get into it), video editing, web browsing, photoshop.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Can't spend too much, I'm a student and work only part time. ~$850 CAD. Tax and shipping included.

3) Where do you live?
Canada

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
DVD/Blu-ray burner, 3+GHZ processor (i7?), 6+GB RAM, Wi-Fi, PSU, Case, RAM, Motherboard, GPU, Sound card.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

I have a 23" 1920x1080 monitor with DVI.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
I plan to build this puppy within the next 7 months.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
