Hey everyone,

I just completed my first computer build and I'm getting no signal from the computer to the monitor. This may very well be something simple, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

My motherboard has no onboard video, so I have my 5770 connected to my monitor via DVI.

Here's the specs

i5 750
Gigabyte GA p55a UD3
2 x 2g Corsair XMS
5770 (x2 once I get the drivers installed)
WD 1TB caviar black
Antec 620W

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

More info would help. Do the fans spin? Do you get any error beeps? is there a buzzer/speaker plugged in or onboard? There's a basic troubleshooting guide sticky, go through the steps for a barebone benchtest and report results. if you want, you can skip the outside case part unless nothing works, but more info is still needed.

I power the computer on and all the fans spin and stay spinning.

I removed one stick of RAM and I still have no video.

There is an onboard buzzer but I am getting no POST beeps.

It really seems like everything is working, but the video card isn't communicating with the monitor.

If everything was working properly, you would get a single POST beep from the on-board buzzer. You get no beeps at all, thus the problem is more complex.

Remove the video card, cut down to just a processor and one stick of ram, and see if you can't get a POST beep. Disconnect everything else (hard drive, DVD, any expansion cards). Try swapping sticks of ram if that fails.

Good, you should perform a memtest for a few runs before you call it safe. It may be that one of the sticks is bad, and switching them out just allowed the machine to boot. If you ignore it now, it could cause problems later.

I have the gigabyte p55-ud3r board and it wont boot up if the memory isn't in the 2 white slots.
