So, I haven't re-built my PC in some time and I know that PSUs have changed quite a bit, and hardware draws quite a bit more now. It's going to be an expensive build, but here is what I am thinking:

1 x ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard

2 x Western Digital Raptor X WD1500AHFD 150GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive

2 x EVGA 768-P2-N835-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

1 x ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard

1 x OCZ Gold 4GB(4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Quad Channel Kit Desktop Memory

1 x Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80562Q6600

Now not only is it going to be expensive, it's going to be a power hog as well. I need a PSU that is going to:

a) Stably support all the hardware
b) Is reliable and well made
c) Isn't going to cost me a small fortune
d) Preferably is modular, but not required. I have a good case that is easy to hide wires in.

I really know nothing about PSUs, so this is the hard part for me. Thanks guys.

Get the corsair hx 620 and replace 1 raptor 150gb with seagate/wd 500gb sataII HD. Btw if you can wait few weeks, new 8800gt 512mb gpu should be available by then.

I am waiting for a week at least. I need to get an on-campus job so I can start making money and don't have to feel bad about dropping all this cash on a PC.

And, I was planning on running the twin Raptors in RAID 0. Why should I get rid of one?

How about:

2 x Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

in RAID 0?
