Hi this will be my first computer im going to be building and i was wondering if everything here looks fine. Also can someone suggest a good cheap crt monitor that is 19 in. Also is the power supply i have listed a good one or should i look into a different brand. Thanks for all help and suggestions

oops sorry i plan on using my pci-e 6600gt and possibly my western digital sata 200 gig i already have.
 
one more question the psu and mobo i wont need any extra connector i looked and didnt see if it was a 24 pin or 20 on either the psu or mobo. Thanks for the help so far i appreciate it.
 
The motherboard is 24 pin (all nforce 4 are). The Fortron PSU you have listed is 24 pin too, its a very good PSU, powers everything in my rig without ever breaking a sweat. What kind of video card you going with?

EDIT: Read your reponse, 6600GT is a very good card, looks like a good build to me.
 
thank you im going with the 6600 gt right now since it'll save me some money maybe later on when i get a job i'll upgrade to one in the 6800 family. Right now the card works fine for me.
 
If you bought an SLI board now, you could just pick up a matching 6600gt later and run it in SLI mode rather than getting a single 6800. Just another option. It could be cheaper down the road.
 
If your into gaming, buy an sli mb and then get another 6600gt. If your not into gaming then don't waste your time on it. Looks like a great system and way to pick the 3500. Thats a great cpu. Good look building. ;)
 
or he could just get a single 7800 down the line and outperform a pointless SLI set up :rolleyes:

I never understood how people can drop like $800 on videocards alone, then again this is the [H] where technology reigns supreme and high FPS give hard ons, ha ha.

I say change case, unless thats "really" what you want......get a good quality case for all of that you chose, cause thats gonna be a pimp rig, gonna need a pimp sturdy long lasting case......check out Aluinum cases like Lian-Li, Coolermaster, Thermaltake ect.....

alright i'll look into those cases i thought that one looked cool better the than the nzxt guardian lol. yeah im not going to do sli i dont find it worth it for the amount of gaming im going to do right now that'll prolly change win this comes in. I'm fine with one card though i'll def. check out those other cases and come back here for suggestions if i find one. Oh and another thing what is wrong with the case that i picked out do rosewill not make good cases or something just curious.
 
I put this advice out there everytime I see someone who says "I'm just going to use a cheap 17/19 monitor"

Other than the keyboard and mouse, the monitor is the only other part of the computer which will physically affect your comfort level. While a cheap 19" monitor might look ok in the store, you may find it to be discomforting after several hours of use. You might have to get a slightly cheaper case, or not put in that extra light in order to get a good monitor. However, a good monitor will last you through many computers, so it's best not to skimp on it.
 
i have a chieftec dragon blue case and a coolermaster atc-220b for sale if your interested. need to make room in my closet!
