Hey everyone-

I just finished my first build ever and installed most of my software. It's the following. Keep in mind I'm a total n00b.

OS: WIndows XP SP2
MOBO: Asus A8N SLI Premium
VIDEO CARD: Asus GeForce 6800 GT (Only one...I'm not running the SLI feature)
Memory: 2x512 (1GB) Corsair
HD: Western Digitial 74 Gig Raptor
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 4000+

So I wanted to see how the video card would do if I benchmark it. Aquamark3 (I only ran it once so far) gave a 64.09K score. I don't know if that's good or not. Is that normal for the system I have? Is that okay? Could something be wrong?

Also, I'm currently running Prime95 Torture Test. I'll run that overnight and let you know what happens.

Could someone just tell me which benchmarks to run for my computer and where you think they should end up? I'm a total n00b and don't have any idea how to use these benchmarks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've never run aquamark. Futuremarks 3Dmark03 and 3Dmark05 are the standards now. Get a copy of 05 for sure. Benchmarks aren't good for a whole lot truethfully, but it'll let you know if your system is in the ballpark or if some more tweaking is needed. A night of prime95+3Dmark05 looping will really test your computer.

Your aquamark score seems right for your rig, overall it is around average for a non sli system. ORB 3dm05 and pcmark05 are good tests, so are samba ram and cpu tests.

I ran prime95 for the night. No errors after 9h45min. So I guess the CPU and RAM are fine. I'll post how the 3dmark does later. What should I be looking for out of that test?
