Hi everyone, this summer I'll be building two systems for my brother and me. One is going to be from scratch, and the other is just a mobo/cpu/ram upgrade with re-used everything else (hence the half). We are both occasional gamers, and neither of us plan to overclock. All parts will be ordered from newegg.

System 1

Chaintech VNF4 ultra
Venice 3000
1gb Corsair Valueselect memory (the pair for 80 bucks)
6600gt (havent decided which one yet)
nec 3520
i already have a harddrive
antec slk3000-B
antec smartpower 2.0 400W

System 2

Chaintech VNF3-250
Sempron 2800
512mb Corsair valueselect (just one piece)
Fortron 350W

Basically I need the most help in choosing which 6600gt to get--Gigabyte is looking good-- and in deciding if the power supplies I chose will get the job done quietly enough. I know I'm limiting my upgrade options in the future by making one with socket 754, but 1) anything better than the 800mhz duron it's replacing will be a godsend and 2) its cheap! Yes I am indeed on a budget here.

I hope I'm not forgetting anything (if I buy the CPUs retail, I don't need to worry about heatsinks and thermal paste, right?). Thanks in advance for any help.

get a 939 socket.. and get the cheap dfi and venice 3000 combo

Do you mean the DFI with the non-ultra nforce4? Would that be better than the Chaintech?

Could you elaborate? From what I've heard the ultra should be faster, and I don't really care if I don't have firewire. Also, I've seen reviews all over the place praising the chaintech as a good budget board, where I've never even heard of this particular DFI before.
