First PC Build.
I7-4790K

Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5.
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4953#ov

GPU is MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4
http://us.msi.com/product/vga/GTX-970-GAMING-4G.html#hero-overview

Tried turning on comp for first time with GTX 970 on, could not get video from either the
mobo or any of the ports on the GTX 970.
GTX 970 was lit up, had power.

Removed GTX 970.
Turned on computer, got video.
Installed OS Windows 8.1 Full Version
Ran gigabyte mother board disk. Ran live update. Updated necessary.
Ran @Bios. Bios version is F5
There is an F6e, but it is beta, so not sure if I want to update, or if recommended.

Reinstalled GTX970, turned on comp
Monitor connected to mobo.
I have video. Card is powered up.
Installed latest drivers from the site(disk had older drivers).
Currently updating recommended things according to Nvidia Geforce Experience.
(GeForce Game Ready Driver.)
Will be installing other utilities and such.

Question: After all is done, how is video handled? Do I have to disable the mobo video output or drivers?
Or, do I just connect my monitor to the GTX970 and I am ready to go?
Total noob question I know.

This computer will be used for some video editing in Premiere Pro and After Effects, as well as Twitch Live Streaming.
Of course before any of this, I will be researching as much as I can regarding my GPU,
the ins and outs, all of the utilities and what I can do with the card.

I remember on one of my builds, I had to change the video output from onboard to PCI in BIOS or it wouldn't boot with the video card.
