Which interface would you go with:

SATA or Firewire for a harddrive. Which is faster? Which takes less time to install?

Do vendors make harddrives that are 200+gb in size for these two interfaces? SCSI is out of the question so no Scsi please.

Im not sure what else I should be asking about this. :\ Anything else that will help me in this is appreciated. I need to go out and buy this asap so please post asap. :)

Thank you for your time.

I would go SATA....firewire external drives are pointless if you ask me...so damn expensive....with SATA you also hae the option for RAID then as well.....

I would never by an external HDD.....i would just by an IPOD...

but thats just me

Ok so 1 for SATA because you can always go with RAID. So why would anyone go with Firewire? What is so good about it besides it's external?

uhhh, well, a SATA drive is something that you would use inside your computer and a firewire is one you would use outside of it... in general more for back up or large storage use...

SATA is much faster... and uhh, if you don't have an internal hard drive you ought to go with a SATA or ATA drive

MUCH faster or a little bit faster? Ive heard FW is faster in some cases. I'll take your word for it although ive done some research as well and it states otherwise in some tests. :(

Anyone else want to take a stab at it?

It doesn't matter if it's internal or external. External is preferred but not required. :)

are probably confusing the Megabyte and Megabit, Serial ATA is definatly what you want on your internal drive, unless you are moving the drive around or have no space in your case i would definatly go that way. SATA definatly.
