Firewire Troubleshooting on PC-DL

Does anyone have experience using the Firewire on the Asus PC-DL? I've tried both the front and rear ports and am getting no signal.

Both MS Moviemaker and Premiere don't see anything attached.

Is there some special driver I need or some configuration setting that I'm missing?
