Been tasked with figuring this out. having to replace a computer with a laptop (only has usb... cant change this...) Need a way to plug a firewire camera into it (also cant change this...)

I see "firewire to usb cables" but see lots of reviews that say they dont work. What is my solution?? is there even one?
 
What kind of laptop?

Have you bought this laptop yet?
 
Do you have an expansion slot (e.g. PCMCIA/PC Card or ExpressCard) you could use for a Firewire hub?
